The Big Chill Surf Classic 1989The Big Chill Surf Classic was East Kent's first surf contest, originally conceived as a reunion for the original Kent surfers it was soon decided to hold a full blown contest. To date it has not been surpassed and is unlikely to be in the near future, in the end it was far more than a contest, as all amateur contests should be it was just a great excuse to get people together and have a good surf. Click on the thumb nails below to read the full account of the Big Chill Surf Classic. The pictures below were all taken at the contest and have not previously been published. Left to Right: The Williams surf team and Ian Stevenson, Alan Williams and Tim Ahern, Longboards at comp control, short boards at comp control.
